AA/AS in Religion/Religious Studies

The Religious Studies Associate in Arts Degree at Fullerton College gives students a humanities background centered on religion. It is intended for students preparing for further study in fields such as government service, counseling, social work, law, and education, for those who want to keep studying religion in order to teach or do research, and for those considering a career in religious ministry or religious education. The program examines major world traditions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, along with less familiar ones. Studying these traditions builds habits of mind that matter in a multicultural society and supports an understanding of church-state questions in the United States and of geopolitical conflicts in regions such as South Asia and the Middle East. The degree totals 18 units alongside the other graduation requirements.
