Labs in this technical diploma are laid out like a working dental office and stocked with the instruments assistants use. Students practice with digital imaging, electronic patient records, and a wider range of dental materials. Clinical internships are arranged with dental offices throughout Kenosha, Racine, and Walworth counties, offering real patient-care exposure before graduation. The curriculum prepares students to sit for the Certified Dental Assistant exam given by the Dental Assisting National Board. The 33-credit program is offered at the Racine Campus and starts each summer. Graduates can find work as dental assistants, surgical or orthodontic assistants, and dental receptionists. Learners leave with chairside experience that helps them step into a busy office. The program also introduces infection control, patient communication, and the paperwork that keeps a practice organized.
