The Master of Science in Cyber Security Engineering prepares students to build cyber-resilient systems that protect physical, computer, and network infrastructure. Cybersecurity is treated as part of system design from the start and throughout the system life cycle. The program brings together technical knowledge, cyber security expertise, and a systems engineering perspective. Graduates are prepared for roles that protect critical systems from many kinds of threats.
Students study software, hardware, networking, and cryptography alongside systems engineering methods for designing and securing complex cyber-physical systems. Topics include homeland security and critical infrastructure policy, threat and vulnerability assessment, physical and personnel security, contingency and emergency planning, and intelligence operations. Graduates can explain how protection decisions affect operations and mission goals. Coursework applies these ideas to realistic case studies.
