Designed for working adults, this certificate teaches the methods behind creating effective training and instruction. Students learn a full sequence, starting with finding out what learners need and defining goals, moving to quickly building materials, and ending with measuring how well they work in different organizations.
Many assignments can be tied directly to a student's current job, and participants interact with other professionals as they build their skills. Upon completion, students can apply core design principles to workplace learning, lead the planning, development, and evaluation of instruction, draw on a wide range of theories and models, and manage a design project from beginning to end.
The courses are taught online by faculty from a technology leadership program that launched one of the earliest online graduate programs in the nation. Admission is rolling every term, a single recommendation is needed, and the program has a STEM designation.
