The Biology B.S. provides sound grounding in cell and molecular biology, whole-organism biology, evolution and ecology. Every major learns the scientific process, data interpretation, experimental design and modern instrumentation. Students choose between concentrations in biomedical sciences and marine sciences. Biomedical study covers physiology, virology, immunology and pharmacology, while marine study stresses research and community engagement around living ecosystems. The program gives students contact with faculty and peers, plus laboratory and field experience useful to employers or graduate schools. Facilities include the Integrated Science Center and the Aquatic Science Center, and a pre-med mentorship program is available. The degree is delivered at the Milledgeville campus of a public university in Georgia.
