BA/BS in International Relations and National Security Studies

The international relations curriculum gives students a broad understanding of politics and public policy, from the city level to the international system. Courses cover both the theory and the practice of politics so students can apply what they learn in many careers. The major has three aims: understanding the main analytical perspectives and concepts scholars use, applying theoretical literature to global problems, and discussing the issues that shape contemporary world politics. Students can look into study abroad through brief faculty-led courses abroad or full-semester exchanges, explore internships for credit, and use career resources for job searches and graduate or professional school applications. Faculty advisors and the department chair act as points of contact for prospective students, and the college invites visitors to share their interests so it can send relevant information.
