MA/MS in Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management

Graduate students in this field study how organizations build and run their technology. The curriculum draws together information systems, networking, security and newer technologies, with the aim that students can plan, put in place and oversee large and intricate IT environments. Teaching comes from faculty who have worked in industry, and assignments are modeled on situations professionals meet on the job, particularly system integration and technology management. Delivery formats are flexible, which matters for those who hold full-time jobs while studying. The degree is aimed at people seeking promotion or a move into higher responsibility. Alumni can aim at senior posts and leadership roles in companies, government agencies and nonprofit organizations. Because the coursework blends technical depth with managerial concerns, it fits both engineers heading toward management and managers who want stronger technical grounding.
