AA/AS in Electrical/Electronics Maintenance and Repair Technologies/Technicians

The applied associate degree in electrical engineering technology targets technician jobs in industrial plants, including semiconductor manufacturing. Students learn electronic fundamentals, how to diagnose and design circuits, programmable controllers, motor control, fluid power and automated production systems. Graduates are positioned for beginning service technician roles, where they find faults in and repair electrical and automated equipment. The hands-on labs operate at the South Campus and have recently opened at the main Denison campus too, each furnished with current equipment. Course content is guided by what regional employers say they need. Shorter certificates and occupational skills awards are available as stepping stones. A secondary school diploma or equivalent is needed, and state testing-readiness requirements apply to the degree. Students can review the certificate and award options listed in the catalog.
