Program details

Overview

Green River offers a bachelor's degree in forest resource management that is aimed at people who have already finished a two-year forestry or related associate degree. Graduates move into roles spanning resource management, forest engineering, water quality work and wildlife biology. The program pairs academic study in math, science, English and the humanities with applied natural resources courses. Two tracks let students lean toward either sampling and assessment or forestry operations. Before taking any course at the 300 or 400 level, a student must send in an entry application and receive acceptance. A group of earlier courses covering research writing, GIS, wildlife habitat, measurement and aerial photo interpretation is expected beforehand. Those who lack an associate degree should sit down with a Natural Resources department advisor and map out how to prepare for admission.
