BA/BS in Political Science and Government

Government is an undergraduate concentration in Harvard College that leads to the A.B. degree. It introduces political science, the discipline concerned with power and what follows from it. The program seeks to prepare students for active citizenship and to show how political scientists explain and analyze social and political life. Undergraduates apply through Harvard College. The Department of Government also has a doctoral program, and continuing education offers a part-time bachelor's and a master's in the subject; each of those has its own application. Prospective applicants should consult the college for current admission steps and deadlines. Curious readers can follow the learn-more link on the university page for details about the course of study. The page lists this program alongside related degrees from other Harvard schools, which should be checked separately.
