Students in the Bachelor of Science in Construction Management develop engineering know-how and management ability aimed at leadership posts in building. They study how projects are planned, timed, priced, and built from various materials, and develop project management ability through site visits, practical exercises, and internships.
Teaching comes from a dedicated construction department, whose instructors have decades of industry background. Small classes mean closer contact with professors, who oversee field practicum work and help students secure substantial placements. Laboratories let students rehearse planning and estimating skills while collaborating on assignments.
An industry internship is required. Graduates move into site supervision, cost estimating, scheduling, expediting, quality checks, and project administration, and many find work before graduating or within a few months afterward. Transfer credit and Honors College options are available.
