Overview

Anthropology at Iowa State is a bachelor's major that students can complete as a BA or as a BS. Both options require coursework in anthropology, and they differ in the extra general education area credits: arts, humanities, or social sciences for the BA, and mathematics or natural sciences for the BS. Each major must also also pick up a minor or double major. Liberal Arts and Sciences majors need at least 120 credits overall, part of them in upper-level courses. The department describes careers in market research, forensics, international development, nonprofit work, and environmental projects. Students can study abroad through the college's program, and an anthropology minor is available for those who prefer a smaller commitment, and the page links to the course catalog and class schedule.
