BA/BS in Fine and Studio Arts

Keene State's art and design program supports students who want to work as artists, designers or leaders in the arts. Faculty are practicing artists and designers, and studios, galleries and a visiting artist series support the work. The Studio/Design Art major is offered as a BA or a BFA. Students start with a broad introduction and move into advanced theoretical and technical study across several media, including painting, sculpture, printmaking, clay, drawing, photography and graphic design. Students in the studio option have individual studio space and a faculty mentor, and accepted BFA candidates mount a thesis exhibition. Keene State is a public liberal arts college in New Hampshire, a rural arts hub within easy reach of two major cities. Small class sizes keep students close to faculty as they develop a personal artistic direction.
