AA/AS in Forestry

Students who want a start in forestry can work toward an Associate of Science at Lake Tahoe Community College. The curriculum blends classroom theory with practical field experience, so learners see how forest ecosystems function while practicing the scientific methods used in the profession. Graduates are prepared for entry-level jobs across forestry-related fields, and the degree also serves as a stepping stone toward further university study. The college encourages newcomers to meet with a counselor before enrolling, because the degree is part of a stackable sequence that includes shorter certificates in forestry, foundational skills and general conservation. A course catalog lists every requirement, and a program map helps each student sequence classes in a personal plan. Financial aid, the College Promise and an annual round of scholarships are available to help with costs.
