Overview

Economics at Le Moyne applies theory and research to practical problems, from consumer choices to public policy. Students examine markets for goods and services, the economics of poverty, food supply worldwide, climate change and resource conservation. The college offers arts and science majors through its arts and sciences school and a business-focused economics major through the business school. Dual majors with business analytics or with risk management and insurance are also available, as is a minor. Students learn to apply economic ideas, analyze policy, interpret data and communicate their conclusions with confidence. Graduates move into teaching, banking, advertising, management, diplomacy and nonprofit work. Students sharpen their critical thinking while learning the economics behind important social questions. The department adds that the liberal arts core supports many career directions.
