BA/BS in International/Globalization Studies

Global affairs is an interdisciplinary major that examines international politics, economics and culture through a social justice perspective. Students consider topics such as humanitarian aid, food security, peacebuilding, environmental sustainability and human rights. The major offers a general studies path as well as concentrations tied to commerce, criminal justice, digital security or the Middle Eastern and North African region. A minor is also available. Students can join Model United Nations and Model European Union courses, which simulate diplomatic work at national conferences. Graduates are encouraged to apply their understanding of the world to encourage peace and guide constructive change. The major draws on politics, economics, labor relations and cultural study, and it encourages students to consider their own place in the wider world. A minor lets other majors add an international focus to their studies.
