Overview

Criminology at Le Moyne studies crime, justice and law through a multidisciplinary lens grounded in Jesuit values. Students explore human behavior, theory, psychology and the ethical questions raised by the legal system. The department sits alongside anthropology and sociology and offers a major leading to a bachelor of arts, as well as a minor. Experiences inside and outside the classroom connect legal theory to policy and practice. Graduates prepare for work in forensic science, policing, the courts and social service, aiming to make a positive difference for the people they serve. Both the major and the minor draw on several fields, and the department notes that the curriculum is intersectional. Students gain a wide range of experiences beyond lectures, including work connected to psychology and the study of human behavior.
