BA/BS in Criminal Justice and Corrections

Criminal Justice is an interdisciplinary major that looks at the institutions and parts of the justice system. Career directions include policy research, prevention work, drafting laws, policing, forensic work and the corrections system, and the major also leads toward graduate school. The curriculum weaves internships, practicum experience and service into the coursework, and the social problems and capstone classes each carry a service project every semester. Students can join Alpha Kappa Delta and Alpha Phi Sigma and take part in a sociology trip to Hawaii. The capstone considers how a Christian practitioner approaches this field as vocation and career alike, linking professional knowledge with discipleship and service to the Church. The program is part of Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, a Christian institution that frames each field around ethical conduct, service to others and civic responsibility. Students can also look into the university's scholarships, which are offered across its schools and programs.
