BA/BS in Chemistry

Chemistry majors at Marietta begin developing laboratory skills from day one, whether they plan to enter graduate school or work directly in a lab. Students pick either the ACS-certified major or the non-certified version. Both tracks demand a rigorous chemistry curriculum while leaving room for interests in biology, physics and mathematics. Faculty are active chemists who lead classes and research labs. First-year students can take part in serious research, and majors are encouraged to publish or present at national and international conferences. The campus also gathers each spring to present original research. The program sits in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. This major is taught at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio, within a broader liberal arts curriculum. Prospective students can request information, apply or arrange a campus visit through the college website, and the program page also links to tuition and financial aid details for families comparing options.
