BA/BS in Teacher Education and Professional Development, Specific Levels and Methods

This Bachelor of Arts prepares teachers for the elementary grades. Students complete clinical experiences in public and private schools and finish with a full-year residency in a classroom alongside a cooperating teacher. Majors may add an endorsement in special education, early childhood education or a middle childhood content area such as English, general science, mathematics or social studies. The program has received national recognition for its content and follows the university core curriculum. Marshall publishes the full course requirements, the general education core and the sequencing of major courses in its online undergraduate catalog. Students are encouraged to meet with an academic advisor to plan each term, confirm prerequisites and see how the major fits with minors or electives they may wish to add.
