AA/AS in Chemistry

Chemistry is an Associate in Science offered by Moorpark College. The degree prepares students for upper-division chemistry study at a four-year institution, with major preparation matching CSU and other university expectations. It also demonstrates laboratory and technical skills useful when seeking work. The award combines required major courses with general education and electives, and each major course must be passed with a C or better. A minimum share of the units must be earned at colleges of the Ventura County district, which is a residency rule. The catalog lists every required and elective course for the current academic year. Moorpark College counselors can help students choose a sequence, track progress toward the award and plan any move to another institution or into the workforce. Prospective students should read the program page for current details before enrolling, since requirements can change between catalog years and course availability varies by term.
