AA/AS in Criminal Justice and Corrections

The Criminal Justice associate degree readies students for roles in corrections and the wider criminal justice field. Settings range from group homes with fewer restrictions to maximum-security prisons, along with law enforcement and community programs. Students learn how to handle emergencies, run investigations, interpret legal standards and think critically. They build communication and people skills and gain some counseling skills. The college says successful students bring strong ethics, a supportive attitude and good listening and negotiating abilities. Graduates may start working right after finishing, transfer to a bachelor's program in criminal justice, or add experience toward positions such as probation and parole agent. Working professionals also enroll to advance. The two-year program is accredited and is available at the Fond du Lac campus and online.
