BA/BS in Engineering, General

The Engineering major at Muskingum University combines coursework, projects and career preparation in a small-program setting. Students choose among three tracks: civil, mechanical or general engineering, and each track includes a required internship. Learning takes place in laboratories and through collaboration alongside faculty mentors and working industry practitioners. The curriculum covers design, manufacturing, systems analysis and sustainability, and it builds in a computer-aided design micro-credential along with an optional engineering drawing credential. Every student completes a senior engineering design project as a culminating experience. The program prepares students for the Fundamentals of Engineering licensure exam and offers career planning each semester. ABET's engineering commission has accredited the program under its general criteria. Small cohorts mean students receive steady personal attention throughout the major. Students also gain career guidance and practical experience before graduation. Students also gain career guidance and practical experience before graduation.
