BA/BS in Criminal Justice and Corrections

Muskingum University's interdisciplinary Criminal Justice major stresses fairness, professional conduct and a rounded education. Students examine law enforcement, courts and corrections, the three central parts of the justice system. Electives come from several departments, namely criminal justice, politics, psychology and sociology. Students observe the system at work through court visits and trips to correctional facilities, and they can complete internships at every level of government or with non-profit and private organisations. Alumni and other practitioners often speak to classes, and students can join the Criminal Justice Association or carry out faculty-supervised research to present at conferences. Graduates have started careers in law, child welfare, probation, prison work, the armed forces and police work, while others have gone on to law school and graduate study.
