Overview

Normandale offers two art transfer degrees, both requiring 60 credits, and this row corresponds to the fine arts pathway. It is a pre-professional associate of fine arts designed for entry into a BFA program, with a capstone exhibition required. Students take forty credits of art and twenty credits that satisfy the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum. Studio options include drawing, painting, ceramics, photography and digital media, together with art history. The art department is accredited by NASAD. After completing requirements, students can transfer to a Minnesota State university as juniors, and art majors may apply for scholarships. The program page sets out the degree requirements and course outlines for planning a schedule, and prospective students can apply online, arrange a campus visit or chat with staff before enrolling.
