AA/AS in Fine and Studio Arts

The Associate of Arts with an Art focus introduces students to making art through studio courses in drawing, painting, design, graphics and digital photography. They can also take two courses surveying art history and one on teaching art. After finishing, students may begin work or move to a university to earn a bachelor's in art. The curriculum stays centered on essential art courses. Because classes are small, instructors can respond to each student's artistic needs with individual advice and critique. Faculty try to build a welcoming setting where learners grow creatively and improve their skills. Students may also use the program to explore creative interests before choosing a major. Interested applicants can ask the college for more details, arrange a visit to the campus, or begin an application directly through its website.
