AA/AS in Fine and Studio Arts

Aimed at students who want to pursue a fine arts career, this associate degree puts studio art first while building familiarity with art history and the ways artists communicate. It is a good fit for those planning further study in the field. Because it transfers, the degree covers lower-division requirements toward a bachelor's degree in fine arts. First-year courses introduce visual foundations, drawing and an art history survey, and these are joined by composition, mathematics and later studio classes. The recommended schedule adds up to 60 units across the semesters of study. A cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 is needed to graduate.
