AA/AS in Computer Science

Odessa College's computer science associate of science gives students the groundwork for a bachelor's degree in computing. The program centers on programming, software development principles, algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design and the way computer hardware is organised. Students also strengthen their mathematics and problem-solving abilities, which underpin later work in any computing field. Classes take place in computer labs with small groups and close faculty attention, so beginners and experienced coders can both find a suitable starting point. The pathway is built for transfer, leading toward careers including software development, programming, systems and data analysis, cybersecurity, database administration and cloud computing. Related degree plans and certificates in network technology are available within the same department for those who prefer a more technician-focused route.
