MA/MS in Agricultural Engineering

Penn State's graduate program in agricultural and biological engineering leads to a research-focused master of science at University Park, and every candidate completes a thesis. The work connects to large societal concerns such as energy supply, environmental protection, crop and food production, and human health. Study topics range from food safety and fermentation to climate change, farm machinery, mechatronics, water quality, remote sensing, bioproducts, resource management, and life cycle and techno-economic assessment. Dual-title options combine the major with international agriculture and development, or with operations research. Students can use laboratory equipment and instrumentation on campus, plus shared facilities operated by several university institutes, a food manufacturing center, and a sizeable agricultural research farm that supports field studies with crops and livestock.
