BA/BS in Biomedical/Medical Engineering

SLU's biomedical engineering bachelor's degree combines engineering principles with medicine and the biological sciences. The major is flexible enough to fit many interests, and students can join campus programs like Medical Scholars and University Honors. Laboratory work runs alongside basic science and engineering courses, helping students practice measurement techniques and experimental methods. Every student completes a yearlong senior capstone design project, often in teams that include students from computer science or biological and medical departments, or engineers from companies. Research is a major feature, and more than a quarter of undergraduates join an organized research experience. Entrepreneurial thinking is woven into coursework and extracurricular activities.
