MA/MS in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical/Space Engineering

Graduate students in SDSU's aerospace engineering master's program select one of three specialty areas: aerospace structures; aerodynamics and propulsion; or a combined area covering mission analysis, systems design, and guidance, navigation and controls. Most coursework is concentrated in the selected area, and students carry out research connected to it. They also enroll in classes outside their specialty so they are ready for aerospace workplaces where several disciplines meet. Analysis and design receive balanced attention across the curriculum. Thesis topics can be drawn from the research currently under way among faculty. Practical experience comes through class projects, thesis research, industrial projects that receive funding, and internships with aerospace firms in the area. Financial support may be available through research, graduate, or teaching assistant positions.
