AA/AS in Criminal Justice and Corrections

The Criminal Justice program at South Plains College leads to an Associate of Arts degree meant for students who will transfer and complete a four-year credential in criminal justice, in corrections or in a neighboring discipline. Core coursework supplies a strong academic base that satisfies transfer requirements. It suits people hoping to work as police officers, detectives or corrections staff, or in other public safety roles. A program advisor who teaches law enforcement technology helps students align their classes with what the receiving university expects. Texas officers who already hold a license may receive credit for select courses after meeting the remaining degree requirements, and some state-employed peace officers may qualify for relief from part of the tuition and lab charges.
