The post-baccalaureate certificate in data science is a short graduate program for people who already hold a bachelor's degree and want practical analytics skills. Students complete a fixed sequence of courses covering foundations of data science, predictive modeling and visualization, machine learning and classification, and a database course chosen from several options.
Applicants need an earlier statistics course, a minimum grade point average, a resume and a short statement covering study and career goals. Admitted students may start in either the summer or the fall term. A cumulative GPA must be maintained across the courses to finish the certificate.
The certificate is delivered online. International students cannot obtain a visa to study it on its own and may apply only while completing a in-person graduate program concurrently. Federal financial aid cannot be used for this certificate.
