Overview
This graduate social work degree trains practitioners to support wellbeing in communities using a broad, connected view of the profession. Completing supervised work after graduation opens the way to sit for the clinical licensing examination in Kentucky and elsewhere.
The length depends on a student's background. People whose earlier degree was in another field take the longer track, while those who already hold an accredited bachelor's in social work may enter with advanced standing and finish sooner.
Classes combine web-based learning with sessions on campus held late in the week, in the evening. Along the way, students join research projects and field seminars and complete practicum placements that link what they read to work in the community.
