Cert in Precision Metal Working

The machining program focuses on computer numerical control, preparing students to cut and form metal and similarly tough materials with accuracy. Learners interpret blueprints and written instructions and convert raw stock into detailed, usable components. Several credential levels exist. Diplomas prepare students to work as CNC machinists, either turning or milling, or in engineering roles, while certificates prepare them to run CNC lathes and mills or to set up those machines. Each route is designed to give students practical technical skills so they can enter the labor market. Students who start with a shorter certificate can often continue toward a longer credential as their goals develop, building on skills already gained in the shop.
