The Associate in Occupational Studies in residential construction gives students a foundation across modern construction techniques, plus energy systems, sanitation, masonry, foundations, plumbing and surveying. Optional topics include welding, engineering, natural resources and small power equipment.
Business courses on law, communication, accounting and personnel management sit beside the technical work. Students design and build in a large residential construction laboratory with areas for framing, plumbing and heating, and masonry. Graduates can estimate, plan and schedule home building projects. The in-person program lasts about two years, around 60 credit hours, and is Reconnect eligible.
