The dietetics program teaches how nutrition relates to health and disease across the lifespan. The curriculum combines biological, social and behavioral sciences with nutrition and food systems management, and is designed to satisfy standards set by the national accrediting council for nutrition and dietetics.
Graduates receive a verification statement qualifying them for one of two credentials. One path leads to supervised practice programs and the registered dietitian nutritionist exam. The other lets bachelor's graduates sit for the dietetic technician exam, which allows work in many nutrition settings without a master's degree.
Sections of the program site cover mission and goals, the program of study, and admission and costs. A master's option on campus is available for continuing study. The department is Human Ecology and the major is taught in person. Admission and cost details have their own page within the program site.
