Digital and Studio Art gives students a firm base in drawing, design and digital skills, plus art history and the critical vocabulary of art. Those emphasizing digital work begin with an introductory course in computer art, then explore animation, video, web design, print, publication design, modeling, photography and illustration.
Students have card access to studios outside class hours. Facilities include a painting studio and art galleries. Applicants who want their artistic talent weighed during admission may submit a supplemental special talent application.
Alumni work as animators, game designers, graphic designers, illustrators, interior designers, photojournalists and visual artists. The department is Art and the major is taught in person. A four-year degree map and a full list of required courses are posted for planning.
