AA/AS in Education, General

The Associate of Arts in Teaching is an opening step for students who plan to earn a teaching certificate. Courses address education theory, child development, instructional methods and core academic subjects, combined with field experience in classrooms. The curriculum is built for smooth transfer into bachelor's programs preparing early childhood, elementary or middle school teachers. Students who prefer to stay can go on to complete a bachelor's degree at Trinity Valley Community College itself. The page lists a typical length of 2 semesters, with a combined cost of $7,000 for tuition, fees and books. Students can find financial aid, scholarship information and class schedules through links on the program page. As a community college pathway, it is meant to be approachable for students at different stages, whether they are starting college for the first time, changing careers or collecting credits to continue elsewhere. Prospective students can use the enrollment link on the program page to begin.
