AA/AS in Business/Commerce, General

Tyler Junior College structures this two-year business pathway for students heading to a university after their associate studies. The coursework is meant to move across to a bachelor's program smoothly, so credits keep working toward the next credential. Early classes cover economics, business technology, and the kind of critical and technical thinking that employers value. Taken together, they give students a wide base that can be sharpened later into accounting, finance, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, international business, or general business administration. The department describes its purpose as meeting transfer needs while supporting learners academically, professionally, and personally. Students who finish are positioned for more specialized upper-division study and can also point to business knowledge when approaching employers. It suits anyone who wants a steady foundation before choosing a specialty.
