AA/AS in Chemistry

The chemistry department offers the Associate of Science in Chemistry with current labs and instruction. Graduates enter four-year schools with transferable courses and the skills needed to complete a bachelor's degree. Professors bring decades of college teaching experience, and classes average about twenty students, allowing individual help and hands-on work. Chemists are needed in public and private sectors, and the field is presented as a demanding and rewarding career path. The department also takes part in National Chemistry Week activities. Students interested in laboratory careers can use the program to complete early chemistry coursework close to home before transferring. The page also links to a video about National Chemistry Week. Transfer planning is a central part of the experience, so students are encouraged to check how each course counts toward the major they want to pursue at the next institution.
