MA/MS in Mechanical Engineering

The mechanical and aerospace department runs the graduate program in mechanical engineering. This record covers the master's level, where candidates choose a Master of Science or a Master of Engineering, each with a thesis or non-thesis route. The engineering master's is limited to holders of an accredited engineering bachelor's degree. Candidates prepare a Plan of Study before the second term ends, and thesis students also form a supervisory committee by then. Non-thesis candidates submit a self-guided plan. A master's degree needs 30 credit hours, of which at least 18 must be graded coursework in the major field. The remainder may come from graduate-level technical courses in other fields. Degree requirements follow the university's graduate degrees section, and applicants should consult the department for current application details.
