Overview

The American Contemporary Music Certificate is a graduate credential offered through UMBC's music department. It is taught on the Catonsville campus and admits students in the fall and spring terms. Applicants apply through the graduate admissions system and also prepare department-specific materials, including a portfolio, an essay, and letters of recommendation, as set out on the department's own certificate page. The certificate suits musicians and scholars who want focused graduate study in contemporary American musical practice without committing to a full master's degree, and it can support further academic or professional work in the field.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Additional requirements for portfolio, essay, and letters of recommendation are listed on the Music department's American Contemporary Music page.
