PGCert in Music

This certificate gives post-baccalaureate musicians a way to concentrate on performance without the academic load of a traditional graduate music degree. It is designed for instrumentalists and singers aiming at full-time careers as performers, and it can be completed in a single year without any other degree. Students may specialize in brass, keyboards, percussion, strings, voice or woodwinds. Study in the main performing medium continues throughout the certificate, supported by solo and ensemble experience in formal and informal settings, along with work on musicianship and music history. The requirements include three terms of private lessons, large ensemble, chamber ensemble, a few graduate-level electives, a recital and a community outreach event in the region. Courses are graded with letter grades and every credit must be earned on campus.
