Program details

Overview

A nutrition degree opens routes into dietetics, public health education, medicine and other health professions, as well as biomedical research and positions in the food and technology sectors. Majors follow one of three paths: Dietetics, Nutrition and Health Sciences, or Nutrition and Society. Every path starts with core science courses. Students then examine how nutrients act and interact in the body, how needs shift through life, how diet helps prevent or treat illness, what foods contain, and how social, economic and cultural factors shape what people eat. Applicants apply to the university first. As an undergraduate degree, it is open to students applying to the university, and the program page links to admissions and advising contacts for those who want more detail.
