Chemistry graduate students here join an active group of researchers with particular strengths in materials chemistry and in biochemical topics, along with the classic subfields of analytical, inorganic, organic, physical and biological chemistry.
On the materials side, work centers on making, building, measuring and modeling new nanoscale materials for sensors, devices and catalysts. On the biological side, researchers use spectroscopy, crystallography, calorimetry and protein engineering to study how proteins fold and function. Interested applicants are advised to email the graduate program manager before submitting an application.
As a graduate degree, it suits students who want deeper subject expertise for work or further study. Prospective applicants should check the program page for the current deadlines and application steps before applying through the Graduate School.
