Overview

The Applied Remote Sensing track is part of the Master of Professional Science housed in the university's Rosenstiel School, which covers marine, atmospheric and earth science. It operates jointly with CSTARS, a remote sensing center focused on the tropics of the southeastern region. Remote sensing now underpins a great deal of modern activity, with sensors on satellites, aircraft and drones supplying data for many applications. The track pairs theoretical knowledge with experiential learning so graduates can work with these data sources. The training is aimed at careers in remote sensing across both the public and private sectors. Prospective students should consult the Rosenstiel School's degree track pages for the full list of courses, prerequisites and application steps, and can request a virtual connection or an in-person tour.
