MA/MS in Computer Science

The master's degree in computer science is offered by the Department of Computer Science in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Computer Science Graduate Committee oversees the program. Approval of each student's plan follows guidelines drawn from recommendations that the field's professional society, the ACM, publishes in its monthly journal. This keeps the degree aligned with widely recognized standards in the discipline. The department's graduate admission page lists the prerequisites applicants should meet before they enter the program, and the department also runs a data science master's and a doctorate. Prospective students should review the program's own page and the university's graduate admissions information for current requirements, contacts and application steps before applying. The degree sits within the university's wider graduate offerings, so applicants can compare related options on the same site before choosing.
