MA/MS in Natural Resources Conservation and Research

The Marine Conservation track in the Master of Professional Science supports environmental preservation work in the ocean. Topics include research methods and field studies, public education, mapping and satellite-based tools, human effects on the environment, laws governing coasts, statistics for managers, and communicating science. Students receive advanced training in both the theory and the practice of marine science and conservation. The flexible structure lets each student shape a plan of study toward a chosen direction. Graduates are prepared for professional science careers in areas like marine biology, ecosystem studies, resource management, media work and teaching. Applicants may hold a bachelor's degree in any field. Prospective students should consult the Rosenstiel School's degree track pages for the full list of courses, prerequisites and application steps, and can request a virtual connection or an in-person tour.
