AA/AS in Construction Engineering Technology/Technician

This associate degree pairs classroom theory with learning that closely resembles day-to-day work on building projects. It prepares technicians who collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors and building inspectors. Students pick an emphasis in managing construction projects or in civil and surveying engineering. Careers it supports include drafting for architecture, estimating costs, scheduling work and supervising crews, and it is also open to newcomers entering the building trades. Learners should see a departmental advisor for planning, and the catalog suggests moving through foundation, intermediate and advanced classes in order where possible. Students may earn credit for earlier training at nearby technical colleges, recognized certifications or career pathway coursework, and technical certificates connect to the degree. Students should plan early to finish on time.
